Moroccan Styled Wedding Shoot at The Dreys
Moroccan Inspiration Styled Wedding Shoot
Rustic Chic meets Moroccan Opulence ( As featured on Festival Brides )
I thought I would share one glorious Spring day spent in a magical woodland in Kent, with some very talented wedding suppliers. I have had so many of my brides opt for the relaxed and informal style woodland wedding, so this was my inspiration! A more rustic style is usually favoured but with a nod to all things Moroccan, an opulent and more decadent environment can be created too.
The wedding breakfast tables were laden with gold dipped pomegranates from the florist Kelly and Hicks, alongside lanterns, tea glasses, candles and beaded place mats. A lantern set within a floral wreath made a stunning centre piece using the same blooms as the bride’s bouquet with added gold sprayed ferns. Palm leaves seen in the incredible backdrop arrangement were another nod to Morocco, a country famous for it’s scrumptious dates. The wedding stationery from Chloë Creative depicted the distinctive architectural pattern often seen in Moroccan tiles in deep red and gold with delicate feathers as a detail.
The lavish three tier wedding cake from Oh So Delicious was a real show stopper! Again we see the traditional tile design in gold set against a vibrant pink background. Deep red, bright pink and gold were the key colours to evoke a sense of Eastern Opulence. Oh So Delicious have since gone on to win this years Kent Wedding Awards.
A chill out zone for guests to relax in was easily created with piles of traditional cushions, leather stitched Moroccan pouffes, rugs and lanterns. Lots of these amazing props were available at The Dreys, a unique wedding venue set in an ancient woodland and even a rather stylish and romantic log cabin for the wedded couple to spend the night in is within its grounds. They offer glamping too for all your guests.
Let’s talk about all the gorgeous bespoke gowns designed by Audrey Ashley Couture. Rich textures and luxurious fabrics are her signature style with alternative colour options of blush pink, gold and soft taupe that complimented beautifully the woodland setting.
I created two makeup looks using golds, rose golds and a deep red plum on our model Katie Lee’s green eyes to really enhance their colour. A richer gold and a deeper plum were added with a blood red lip when the incredible flower crown by Wild Rose Hair was worn. Hair was kept loose and soft with detailed braiding and delicate flowers woven in and swept up for the flower crown.
The natural beauty of the woodlands, ceremony area, various marquee options, meadow glamping for guests made the most wonderful back drop for this shoot, all beautifully captured by Penny Young Photography and filmed by Half Moon Weddings.
I hope you have enjoyed this shoot and that it will inspire!
