It all starts with a PRIMER, after your moisturiser of course. Your foundation adheres better to the skin and so lasts longer. There are primers for all different skin types that offer different results but my current favourite has to be Backlight Priming Filter by Becca. This Australian brand is all about luminosity, and this primer gives a beautiful, subtle radiance to the skin and shines through for that ” lit from within ” glow.

FOUNDATIONS can present a baffling choice, so to keep it simple decide what coverage you need and what skin type you are. For a light coverage I often choose a Tinted Moisturiser by Laura Mercier. It’s available for a normal/ dry skin and a more matt formula if you’re prone to an oily T- zone. It contains an SPF of 25 and gives a light but good coverage. I also regularly use Estée Lauder Double Wear Light and the tried and tested Double Wear. One of my favourites for it’s flawless coverage and durability. A good tip when choosing a foundation, match the colour by applying to your jawline, match the texture (how it sits on your skin) on your cheek. This is where we tend to have the largest pores.

POWDER. To set your base use a translucent, loose powder, I’ve been using the Laura Mercier one for years. They’ve recently added one with a luminosity, which you can either dust all over or just the areas you wish to highlight, such as the tops of your cheek bones.

My go to for gorgeous EYE SHADOW palettes are the American brand Tarte, known as “high performance naturals” They always combine colours which blend beautifully, work together and last well thanks to their pigment levels, I love Maneater and Don’t quit your Daydream. You can order these from QVC in the UK, and they often have tutorials to watch that demonstrate the products.

My final from my Famous Five is BLUSHER, Crushed Mineral Blush in Sherbert by Youngblood Mineral makeup. I adore this soft coral with a touch of shimmer, for a healthy glow. I contour with a bronzer and then add this on the apples of the cheeks for a pop of colour, it really does suit everyone!
